Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of hospital Sterile Reprocessing experience preferred.
• Sterile Processing Tech certification preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Receives, cleans, decontaminates, packages, labels, and sterilizes instruments, supplies and equipment.
• Stocks and replenishes supplies and equipment; notifies department head when new items are needed.
• Maintains work area in a clean, organized manner and documents cleaning and sterilization processes.
• Operates sterilizing equipment and ensures compliance with department and AORN standards.
• Participates in unit-based quality monitoring and supports effective customer relations.
