Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure instruments are cleaned, sterilized, and ready for every procedure. You will monitor cycles, prepare instrument trays, and support nurses and surgeons in a fast-paced surgical environment.

A High School diploma and CRCST/CSPDT certification must be obtained within 2 years of the employment start date, aligning with hospital standards and patient safety priorities.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED is required.
• Must obtain CRCST or CSPDT certification within 2 years of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards.
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to ensure safe, high-quality care.
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on daily schedules and procedures.
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized.
• Collaborating with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support efficient surgeries.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Sterile Processing Technician, youll play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care by making sure every instrument is thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready when needed. Your focus on safety and attention to detail helps protect patients and empowers a team that’s committed to the care and improvement of human life – one surgery at a time.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries

What qualifications you will need:

• High School Graduate / GED
• (CRCST) Certified Registered Central Service Technician, or (CSPDT) Cert Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date
