Job summary

Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, GA, is seeking an SPD Technician to support indirect patient care. You will prepare and assemble medical and surgical supplies, maintain sterile processing areas, and distribute equipment to the perioperative team.

The role requires high school diploma and preferred experience in sterile processing or surgical technician programs, with CSPDT/CRCST/CIS/CST certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• 1 year of sterile processing, supply chain, or materials management preferred.
• CSPDT/CRCST/CIS/CST certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow protocols for cleaning, disinfecting, preparing, packaging, sterilizing, storing and transporting supplies.
• Prepare and distribute surgical case carts according to physician preferences and perioperative needs.
• Follow manufacturers' instructions and internal policies for chemicals and equipment handling.
• Monitor, interpret and document sterilizer indicators (physical, chemical, biological).
• Conduct inventory, receiving and distribution of supplies to/from sterile processing.
• Monitor par levels, packaging integrity, and expiration dates; facilitate replacements.
