Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or GED and completion of a Surgical Technician program or LPN.
• Experience: up to one year of related work experience or equivalent education.
• Licensure/Certifications: Surgical Technician certification or state license; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Functions as part of an interdisciplinary team with positive interpersonal communication with patients and staff.
• Provides direct support to nursing and technical staff in delivering quality care.
• Follows instructions from the department director and licensed nursing staff.
• Complies with CRHS safety, infection control and improvement initiatives.
• Prepares for scheduled and emergent cases, gathers and pulls supplies for cases.
• Collaborates to ensure up-to-date information on preference cards for quality outcomes.
• Tracks surgical product use to ensure accurate case charges.
• Decontaminates, cleans, sterilizes and prepares instruments and maintains records.
