Job summary

Trinity Health Livonia Hospital in Livonia, MI is seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Reprocessing/Endoscopy Technician to support our surgical and endoscopy teams. You will decontaminate, inspect, assemble, sterilize instruments and endoscopes and ensure readiness of supplies for procedures.

Requires a high school diploma; Sterile Processing Technician certification preferred; two years in Central Sterile/Endoscopy or OR experience preferred; basic computer skills and instrument tracking

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Sterile Processing Technician certification preferred.
• Two years of Central Sterile Processing, Endoscopy, or Operating Room experience preferred.
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques, decontamination procedures, surgical instrumentation, and aseptic practices.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments, endoscopes, and equipment per standards.
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, washers, and instrument tracking systems with accurate documentation.
• Assemble case carts and procedure trays based on surgical schedules and physician cards.
• Support Endoscopy and OR teams by ensuring instruments, scopes, and supplies are available and processed.
• Perform quality checks on instrumentation and coordinate repairs for damaged equipment.
• Maintain inventory and distribute sterile supplies across departments.
• Assist with emergency cart readiness and department workflow needs.

Trinity Health Livonia Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Reprocessing/Endoscopy Technician to support our surgical and endoscopy services team. In this role, you will be responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments, endoscopy equipment, and sterile supplies to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and procedural readiness.
Key Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments, endoscopes, and medical equipment following industry and regulatory standards.
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, washers, and instrument tracking systems while maintaining accurate documentation.
• Assemble case carts and procedure trays based on surgical schedules and physician preference cards.
• Support Endoscopy and Operating Room teams by ensuring instruments, scopes, and supplies are available and properly processed.
• Perform quality checks on instrumentation, identify damaged equipment, and coordinate repairs as needed.
• Maintain inventory and distribute sterile supplies throughout multiple hospital departments.
• Assist with emergency cart readiness, equipment decontamination, and department workflow needs.
• Adhere to AORN, OSHA, AAMI, Joint Commission, and Trinity Health standards for infection prevention and patient safety.
  

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Sterile Processing Technician certification preferred.
• Two years of Central Sterile Processing, Endoscopy, or Operating Room experience preferred.
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques, decontamination procedures, surgical instrumentation, and aseptic practices.
• Basic computer proficiency and experience working with instrument tracking and hospital information systems.
