Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a Central Sterilization Technician in Louisiana to join our sterile processing team. You will prepare instrument trays and supplies for steam sterilization, process instruments from nursing services and off-site clinics, and maintain instrument condition while reporting repairs as needed.

You will assist operating room personnel with equipment information and assess needs across departments to ensure surgeons have the necessary supplies.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in sterile processing with listed certifications.
• Evenings shift experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a hospital Sterile Processing Department.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instrument trays and supplies for steam sterilization using correct loading/unloading techniques.
• Process instruments and supplies from nursing services and off-site clinics through cleaning, packaging, sterilization and storage.
• Monitor the condition of instruments and equipment and report any repair needs.
• Assist OR staff by providing information about equipment and instrument sets as needed.
• Assess equipment and instrument needs for all departments and ensure availability for surgeons.
