Qualifications

U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
Six months of experience demonstrating ability to perform the work or understand the work.
One year of health care related coursework in sterile processing or related fields.
Equivalent combination of experience and education may qualify.
May be eligible under the Grandfathering Provision for current VA MST employees.

Responsibilities

Provide sterilization, preparation, supply items and decontamination support.
Maintain knowledge of processes for reusable medical devices.
Follow Standard Operating Procedures for cleaning, disinfection and sterilization.
Handle instrumentation and supplies for patient care and operating room sets.
Alternate between contaminated and clean environments; wear PPE as required.
