Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to support the decontamination, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of reusable medical devices and surgical instrumentation. You will follow established procedures, ensure traceability, and maintain inventory to support safe patient care.

Under supervision, you will operate washers and sterilizers, inspect instruments for cleanliness and completeness, and participate in ongoing training and safety programs to uphold regulatory

Qualifications

• Education: Some High School Completed preferred.
• Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No.
• Licenses and Credentials: CRCST - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) preferred.
• Experience: 0-1 year preferred.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Basic knowledge of sterile processing workflows, instrumentation handling, and infection prevention practices.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Performs decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable medical devices and surgical instrumentation.
• Operates sterile processing equipment, including washers and sterilizers, following policies and regulatory requirements.
• Inspects instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and completeness; identifies items needing repair.
• Assembles instrument trays and equipment according to tray listings and quality standards.
• Maintains traceability of devices using instrument tracking systems.
• Keeps inventory of sterile supplies and processing consumables.
