Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem in Evanston, IL is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support the Sterile Processing Department. The role is full-time with hours 7:00am-3:30pm, rotating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include decontamination, packaging and sterilization of instruments, and preparing surgical case carts. Education required is GED, with certification preferred, and two years of sterile processing or OR experience is favored.

Qualifications

• GED/High School Equivalent required.
• Certification: CBSPD or IAHCSMM strongly preferred.
• Two years of sterile processing or operating room experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide hospital and affiliated facilities with sterile processed materials and equipment.
• Execute established procedures for decontamination, assembly, packaging, sterilization and surgical case cart setup to ensure quality product for patient care.
• Follow established procedures to ensure decontamination completion.
• Place sterile items in appropriate areas for distribution, ensuring items are accurately labeled by department.
