Job summary

CommonSpirit Health seeks a Certified Sterile Processing Tech to uphold sterile processing standards and ensure efficient workflow in the OR. You will support decontamination, processing, sterilization and distribution of instruments and supplies to the operating rooms.

Your role includes maintaining regulatory-compliant records, mentoring non-certified staff, and helping staff prepare for surveys and regulatory assessments.

Qualifications

• Computer skills required.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification required upon hire or transfer.
• High School Diploma/G.E.D. required.

Responsibilities

• Promote improved quality and patient safety by ensuring efficient flow of the Sterile Processing department.
• Perform decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of instruments, equipment and sterile supplies; operate sterilization equipment as needed.
• Maintain records in compliance with AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission and OSHA standards; monitor and mentor non-certified staff.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

Join our team as a Certified Sterile Processing Tech. In the Certified Sterile Processing Tech role you will:

• Promote improved quality and improved patient safety in the OR by ensuring the efficient flow of the Sterile Processing department.
• Perform routine tasks relating to the decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of instruments, equipment and sterile supplies. Responsible for general operating and monitoring of sterilization equipment.
• Maintain records in compliance with AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission and OSHA standards. Maintains Certification, and monitors, instructs and mentors non-certified.
• Facilitate awareness and understanding around what is at stake with patients in the OR.
• Facilitate the department's preparation of staff to pass survey/regulatory assessments.

Job Requirements

Pay Range

$22.08 - $37.19 /hour
