Job summary

Saint Anthony Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join our Central Supply team in Chicago. The role focuses on reprocessing, decontamination, disinfection, packaging, sterilization, and distribution of instruments for surgical procedures.

The position requires certification within one year of hire and offers a day shift with multiple start times. Competitive compensation ranges from $22–$28 per hour, with a strong benefits package and opportunities in a teaching hospital

Qualifications

Certification in Sterile Processing or eligibility within 1 year of hire.
Ability to follow instrument handling and sterilization procedures.
Knowledge of biological and chemical indicators and monitoring processes.

Responsibilities

Decontaminates and prepares instruments per procedures.
Operates Washer/Ultrasonic and sterilizers according to manufacturer instructions.
Performs biological and chemical monitoring; maintains records.
Selects items from case cart; transports to surgery as scheduled.
Performs manual issue/transfer and uses Material Management System.
Maintains inventory, labels, stores and inspects packaging.
Documents daily sterilization statistics and initiates recalls if needed.
