Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join the team on the 3rd shift. The role involves adhering to safety standards, handling malfunctions, and performing sterilization across high- and low-temperature methods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CSPDT or CRCST certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety standards.
• Identifies, responds & reports malfunctions and/or alarms.
• Performs efficacy and quality testing for all processes and equipment.
• Identifies manual and/or mechanical cleaning per manufacturer IFU for general, laparoscopic, orthopedic, neuro, cardiovascular, power instrumentation.
• Performs flexible scope processing using High Level Disinfection (HLD).
• Prepares and uses supplies required in the assembly process.
• Inspects and assembles instrumentation checking cleanliness & functionality.
• Packages and labels instrumentation per standards.
• Safely determines sterilization equipment functionality, operation, monitoring and maintenance with documentation.
• Performs high temperature (steam) and low temperature (gas plasma, ethylene oxide, liquid chemical) sterilization.
