Baystate Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join the Sterile Processing Department at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. The technician will decontaminate, inspect, sterilize, and prepare instruments and supplies for surgical cases, collaborating with OR staff to ensure timely and safe patient care.

The role offers a 2nd shift (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM), full-time schedule, with rotating weekends and holidays, and a $2,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates with SPD

Qualifications

• GED or HiSET required.
• Preferred experience in sterile processing or perioperative environment.
• Ability to read and comprehend English language.

Responsabilités

• Decontaminate, clean, inspect, test, assemble, package, wrap, and sterilize surgical instruments and devices according to protocols.
• Operate and maintain decontamination and sterilization equipment and report malfunctions.
• Document sterilization parameters and processing records for quality and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare case carts and pick supplies using FIFO and preference cards.
• Coordinate turnover of instrumentation for add-on cases and communicate with OR staff.
