The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and supplies throughout the medical center.
You will maintain documentation, assist in training, prepare and QA case carts, and operate sterilizers, washers, and ultrasonic cleaners. The role requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations and to uphold rigorous safety standards.
Job Summary: Incumbent decontaminates, operationally inspects, assembles, sterilizes, and distributes surgical instrumentation, implants, supplies, and equipment throughout the medical center. Incumbent maintains documentation related to these duties and assists in the training of other Sterile Processing Technicians. Incumbent pulls needed supplies and instruments for next day cases or emergent cases (E-Cases) by utilizing OR preference cards picklists. Performs all tasks necessary to prepare and maintain accurate surgical Case Carts. Incumbent operates and maintains sterilization equipment, decontamination equipment, and computer systems related to these duties. This position requires the flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The ability to safely move heavy trays and equipment, lifting up to 50 pounds, and stand for prolonged periods of time
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Current Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST), IAHCSMM or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT), CBSPD

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
