Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Trophy Club in Trophy Club, TX is hiring a Sterile Processing Tech. You will perform sterilization tasks, inspect instruments for proper condition, label sterilized items, and ensure availability of instruments to support our operating rooms in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Requirements include a high school diploma, CRCST or equivalent certification, 1–2 years of instrument room experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CRCST or equivalent certification required.
• 1–2 years of instrument room/sterile processing experience.
• Capacity to learn sterilization equipment and processes.
• Must be Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Tech (SPD).
• Good communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Performs specified functions to meet procedure requirements.
• Adheres to sterilization process policies and procedures.
• Inspects instruments for proper working condition.
• Maintains equipment/instrumentation per manufacturer recommendations.
• Labels and dates sterilized equipment/instruments.
• Ensures instrument availability to avoid delays.
• Operates decontamination equipment, autoclaves, and Steris equipment.
• Performs biological/chemical monitoring tests on sterilizers and logs results.
• Checks for outdated items or package integrity.
• Keeps instrument racks organized and maintains supplies.
• Coordinates AMI standards for sterilization of instruments and supplies.

Sterile Processing Tech at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Trophy Club:

• Performs specified functions to meet the requirements of each approved procedure.
• Adheres to sterilization process policies and procedures.
• Inspects equipment / instruments for proper working condition.
• Maintains equipment / instrumentation according to manufactures recommendations.
• Accurately labels / dates sterilized equipment / instruments
• Maintains availability of instruments and equipment to avoid delays.
• Reports observed or suspected breaks in sterile technique and takes action according to policy.
• Correctly operates decontamination equipment, autoclaves, Steris equipment.
• Performs required biological chemical monitoring tests on all sterilizers and maintains logs according to policy and procedure.
• Performs checks for outdated items or package integrity.
• Keeps instrument racks in organized manner.
• Maintains adequate supplies for the sterile processing area.
• Coordinates and implements AMI standards for the sterilization of instruments and supplies.
• Performs other tasks and duties as assigned in an efficient, effective and cost-conscious manner, complying with USPI’s policies, procedures and regulations.

Qualifications

Education:

• High school graduate or equivalent.

Licensure/Certification:

• Certification required – CRCST or equivalent

Required Experience:

• 1-2-year previousexperience as Instrument Room Technician or equivalent experience
• Capacity to learn use of sterilizers.
• Possess good communication skills.
• Must be a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Tech (SPD)
