Job summary

Mercy Gilbert Medical Center is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech to ensure sterile instrumentation is available for procedures. You will process and sterilize instruments, assemble trays, perform quality checks, and maintain inventory to support patient care.

Ideal candidates have excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to strict sterilization protocols to keep tools safe and ready for use in the OR and clinics.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED is required.
• Preferred completion of a surgical instrument technician program or equivalent experience.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to sterilization protocols.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and delivers case carts with aseptic technique.
• Decontaminates surgical instruments, power equipment, and endoscopes.
• Assembles, packages and labels instruments for sterilization.
• Answers phones, fills orders, and stocks supplies.
• Utilizes various sterilization and disinfection methods.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Sterile Processing Tech at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, you will be a vital link in patient care, ensuring the highest quality, sterile instrumentation is always available to medical teams.

Every day, you will meticulously process and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment, assembling trays, conducting quality checks, and maintaining inventory. You'll provide excellent service to patients, physicians, and staff, ensuring tools are safe and ready for procedures.

To be successful in this role, you will possess exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a rigorous commitment to sterilization protocols, working efficiently and expertly to support optimal outcomes.

• Prepares and delivers case carts. Utilizes aseptic technique when handling and distributing sterile instruments and supplies.
• Decontaminates surgical instruments, power equipment, flexible endoscopes and other medical devices.
• Ability to assemble, package and label, clinics surgical services and all other hospital instrumentation for various methods of sterilization.
• Answers telephone, fills orders, issues and stocks supplies
• Utilizes various methods of high/low temp sterilization and disinfection processes.
