Job summary

IU Health in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech III to clean, sterilize and distribute surgical instruments and endoscopes. You will support surgical teams with specialized instrumentation knowledge and serve as a mentor to staff, while assisting scheduling and inventory tasks.

The role requires two CS certifications, ongoing CE credits, and current NBSTSA status for hybrid OR/SPD duties. A high school diploma or GED is required, with 3–5 years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two national certifications in central service or sterile processing required.
• 24 CE credits annually focused on CS field.
• Must maintain NBSTSA certification for hybrid OR/SPD role.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, wraps, sterilizes, stores and distributes equipment, supplies and endoscopes.
• Assists clinical staff by applying specialized knowledge to prepare for surgical cases.
• Provides technical guidance to team members in instrumentation tasks.
• Trains team on diverse skills and tasks; acts as mentor.
• Assists Manager with scheduling, training and inventory duties.
