Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Supervisor for the Sterile Processing Team in Georgia. The role oversees instrument processing, case cart management, and daily workflow to ensure operating rooms are stocked and ready for procedures.

The supervisor leads SPT staff with a focus on efficiency and quality while collaborating with OR and Surgical Services leaders. Responsibilities include directing processing activities, training staff, and maintaining aseptic techniques in line with AAMI/JCAHO

Qualifications

• Demonstrates expert knowledge in surgical supply processing, instruments and sterile technique.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities are required.
• Must be able to work with all levels of care providers and maintain English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Sterile Processing Techs to ensure workflow and productivity on designated shift.
• Directs instrument processing and case cart activities for quality and timely supply delivery.
• Coordinates staffing, schedules, and turnover activities to maximize efficiency.
• Maintains compliance with aseptic techniques and regulatory standards.
• Supports education and orientation of staff; participates in OR rounds.
