Job description

Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician

Sign-On Bonus: $8,500 for offers accepted by March 31, 2025. Terms and Conditions apply.

The Sterile Processing Technician performs a variety of indirect patient care activities, including:

  1. Decontamination of surgical instruments
  2. Sterilization of instruments, supplies, and equipment
  3. Preparation of instruments and supplies for assembly on case carts

This role observes strict patient confidentiality following HIPAA regulations, maintains a clean and safe environment, and completes assigned responsibilities during the transitional duty period.

Qualifications
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:
  • Certification as a Registered Central Sterilization Technician (CRCST), Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT), or Surgical Tech certification (CST, TS-C, or CORST)
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Continued Employment:
  • Current CRCST, CSPDT, CST, TS-C, or CORST Certification
Experience REQUIRED:
  • Minimum of three (3) years of sterile processing experience
  • Previous experience with a personal computer
Experience PREFERRED:
  • One (1) year of supervisory, management, or leadership experience
  • Previous work in an academic medical center environment
Education/Training REQUIRED:
  • High school Diploma or equivalent
Education/Training PREFERRED:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Completion of the IAHCSMM curriculum
Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, Evenings, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
