Job summary

Surgery Partners is seeking a meticulous sterile processing technician to sterilize and clean medical equipment, instruments, and supplies. You will retrieve contaminated supplies and deliver sterile items, maintain inventory, and arrange instrument trays for surgeries.

The role requires attention to detail, familiarity with sterilization techniques, and the ability to handle fragile equipment. You will work with a team or independently to ensure patient safety and efficient operating room

Qualifications

• Certification in sterile processing in ambulatory surgery setting.
• Technical skills and familiarity with sterilization techniques.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and meticulous care on the job.
• Passion for keeping people safe.
• Good judgment and critical-thinking skills.
• Manual dexterity and ability to handle fragile equipment.
• Ability to work well in a team or independently.

Responsibilities

• Collect used and contaminated equipment for sorting and decontamination.
• Manually clean supplies and operate decontamination equipment.
• Prepare and pack decontaminated supplies for sterilization.
• Monitor and operate sterilization equipment.
• Verify items are properly cleaned and sanitized.
• Test and report issues with sterilization equipment.
• Sterilize, wrap, and organize items for surgeries and procedures.
• Deliver equipment and instruments for surgeries and medical carts.
• Maintain records of sterilization procedures and equipment maintenance.
• Manage inventory, reordering, and check expiration dates.
