Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a Sterile Process Technician to support the operating rooms and related units. You will ensure sterile supplies, instruments, scopes and equipment are properly inventoried, decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, stored and tracked for safe patient care.

The role requires adherence to IFUs, quality standards and infection control while using instrument tracking systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of certified sterile processing technician training program.
• Certification within 6 months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays for OR and other departments.
• Prepare procedural case carts per campus requirements.
• Operate automated washers, cart washers, ultrasonic washers, and sterilizers following safety policies.
• Maintain inventory and accurately document sterilization status of items.
• Support onboarding of new team members as appropriate per campus.
• May be required to provide off-shift and holiday coverage.
