Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification needed at hire.
• Active CST or TSC meets license requirement.
• Minimum 1 year experience in sterile processing.
• Incumbents lacking qualifications have 18 months to obtain them.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort contaminated instruments from multiple departments.
• Disassemble, clean and inspect instruments for cleanliness and integrity.
• Assemble instrument sets per count sheets and tray lists.
• Wrap or package instruments for sterilization and monitor cycles.
• Document sterilization cycles and maintain records.
• Deliver sterile items to requesting departments and prioritize urgent needs.
• Assist in training new staff on procedures and equipment.

Education

CST or TSC certification equivalent
