Job summary

MedStar Georgetown University Hospital seeks a sterile processing technician to decontaminate, clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments and supplies used in patient care. You will prepare surgical case carts and deliver them to the OR, while maintaining strict infection control practices and accurate documentation.

The role requires 1-2 years of sterile processing experience and certification qualifications such as CSPDT or CSPM.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• 1-2 years experience as a sterile processing technician preferred.
• CSPDT within 1 year required or CSPM certification.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Prepare surgical case carts and deliver to the OR in a timely manner.
• Operate sterilizers and document sterilization results accurately.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow infection control standards.
• Assist with recalls and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
