Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to clean, decontaminate, sterilize, and prepare surgical instruments and devices according to standard procedures at the Pocono Ambulatory Surgery Center.

You will use multiple technologies and equipment across processing stages, with a focus on aseptic technique and infection control. The role supports daily operations and may include clerical duties; day shift, onsite.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and ability to communicate effectively.
• Must obtain CSPDT or CRCST within 1.5 years of hire.
• Must work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment and maintain accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates instruments in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Prepares trays of surgical instruments and packs.
• Operates steam and Sterrad sterilizers per procedures.
• Provides verbal shift reports and completes written shift documentation.
• Demonstrates aseptic technique and infection control practices.
• Attends inservice and educational programs as required.
