Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join the day shift. This role handles decontamination, sterilization, packaging and processing of surgical instruments according to procedures.

Responsibilities include operating steam and Sterrad sterilizers, maintaining aseptic technique, charting shift reports, and supporting the department's quality and safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• CSPDT or CRCST certification in Pennsylvania within 1.5 years is preferred.
• Experience with decontamination, sterilization and instrument preparation.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control practices.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates instruments in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Prepares trays of surgical instruments and packs.
• Operates steam and Sterrad sterilizers per department procedures and instructions.
• Gives verbal report to the oncoming shift and completes shift reports.
• Maintains aseptic technique and participates in inservice programs.
