Job summary

It may include clerical support as needed. The position requires handling sterilization equipment, adherence to aseptic technique and infection control, and participation in ongoing training and accreditation processes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Reading comprehension and ability to communicate effectively with healthcare team.
• Ability to function in a high-stress environment and maintain attention to detail.
• CSPDT or CRCST certification within 1.5 years.
• IAHCSMM certification in PA within 1.5 years.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates instruments safely and appropriately.
• Prepares trays of surgical instruments and packs.
• Operates steam and Sterrad sterilizers per procedures.
• Reports verbally and in writing on shift activity.
• Maintains aseptic technique and infection control practices.
