Job summary

Regent Surgical Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support decontamination through set assembly, sterilization and high-level disinfection in our Chicago ASC environment. The role includes preparing surgical case carts and materials management as needed.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, completion of an accredited Sterile Processing program, and BLS certification as required by ASC policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of Sterile Processing education from an accredited school or training program.
• BLS certification (as required by individual ASC policy)

Responsibilities

• Separate and prepare contaminated instrumentation for cleaning.
• Prepare, install, assemble, clean, and sterilize/disinfect operating room or procedure room equipment and instrumentation and medical devices.
• Decontaminate, process, sterilize/disinfect, and distribute medical supplies.
• Inspect and perform functional checks on instrumentation/equipment to assure proper functioning prior to set/tray assembly.
• Process, wrap, and label all equipment and instrumentation for sterilization using appropriate wraps and containers.
• Perform proper documentation as it relates to the sterilization/HLD process.
• Perform all duties relating to daily maintenance for all types of sterilizers/re-processors.
• Communicate departmental equipment and supply needs to appropriate supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
