Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Lake Charles, LA is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, clean, sterilize, assemble, store and distribute reusable medical devices used in patient care.

The role includes assembling surgical case carts, maintaining PAR levels, and adhering to OSHA and AMI standards. The position is PRN/Per Diem; a High School Diploma is required, with 6–12 months of sterile processing experience preferred and CRCST/CER certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 6 to 12 months of practical application experience in sterile processing considered.
• Sterile processing experience preferred.
• HSPA Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) or Certified Registered Central Sterile Tech (CRCST) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates and cleans reusable equipment/instruments in accordance with OSHA standards.
• Assembles, sterilizes, stores and distributes medical devices and supplies for patient care.
• Organizes and dispatches surgical case carts based on physician preference cards.
• Performs physical inventories of floor stock and SPD to ensure accuracy of processes; monitors storage and usage.
• Maintains communication with inter/intra-departmental staff and adheres to confidentiality.
