Job summary

Surgery Partners is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to prepare and sterilize instruments per AAMI standards, manage inventory, and support OR scheduling. The role emphasizes accurate record-keeping and reliable equipment testing.

The technician will perform sterilization using steam, Sterrad, Steris, and high-level disinfection methods, ensuring proper aseptic technique and instrument handling at all times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Sterile Processing Certificate required.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and sterilization principles.
• Ability to read and interpret safety and procedure manuals.
• Basic communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical instruments and supplies according to AAMI standards.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies for the area.
• Test sterilizers and keep sterilization logs.
• Ensure aseptic technique and instrument handling accuracy.
• Assist in turnover of OR rooms between cases.
