Job summary

Arkansas Children's is seeking a Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Manager to lead daily sterile processing activities in the OR and Central Sterile Department. You will supervise staff, ensure competency, and manage budgets to optimize patient care outcomes.

The role requires a Bachelor's Degree and at least 5 years in a related field with leadership experience, plus certification as a Central Sterile Technician. This is a full-time position in a safety-sensitive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Related Field - 5 years with 1 year of leadership experience.
• Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory requirements related to sterilization activities.

Responsibilities

• Identify and champion performance improvement opportunities and evaluate practice changes.
• Ensure proper precautions during decontamination and correct sterilization of instruments.
• Initiate product recalls per policy.
• Hold full authority for personnel actions and conduct performance evaluations.
• Monitor financial information and manage staffing resources to meet surgical services needs.
• Collaborate with business manager to monitor inventory and pricing processes.
• Supervise use of consignment sets and ensure accurate charging.
• Plan for OR instrumentation needs with leadership and vendors.
• Stay current with regulatory requirements and participate in continuing education.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
