Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Sterile Processing Supervisor responsible for mentoring, training, and scheduling the work of Sterile Processing staff. You will supervise, coach, and lead team members, applying Standard Precautions and Event-Related Sterility principles to ensure safe patient care.

Qualifications include CBSPD or IAHCSMM certification, CIS/CHL or CSPM/CSIS credentials, and at least 3 years of instrument sterilization experience with 1 year of leadership preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified by CBSPD or IAHCSMM required; CIS/CHL or CSPM/CSIS certifications preferred or must acquire within 1 year.
• Minimum 3 years of instrument sterilization experience; 1 year of leadership/management preferred.
• Ability to follow English instructions and perform basic math; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Trains and mentors Sterile Processing Technicians.
• Prepares work schedules; assists manager with performance issues and evaluations.
• Ensures proper handling and preparation of instruments for sterilization; verifies quality control.
• Loads, operates and maintains sterilization equipment; monitors inventory.
• Promotes professional growth and maintains compassionate, customer-focused service.
