Job summary

Emerson Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Lead Tech for the day shift to provide shift leadership to the SPD team and serve as a preceptor for new hires. You will ensure adherence to SOPs, interpret the following-day surgical schedule, and coordinate instrument turnover and OR needs.

The role requires CRCST or CBSPD certification, 3–5 years of Sterile Processing experience, and strong customer service with English communication, plus computer proficiency and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma equivalent preferred.
• 3-5 years' experience as a Sterile Processing Tech.
• Current CRCST or CBSPD certification.
• Excellent customer service and English communication skills.
• Proficiency in computer use and maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide shift leadership to SPD technicians and serve as preceptor to new hires.
• Interpret next day surgical schedule and identify OR needs.
• Oversee instrument turnover and CSPD staffing performance.
• Communicate instrument issues with OR charge nurse and coordinate add-on cases.
• Troubleshoot equipment and update/clean data in T-DOC.

Sterile Processing Lead Tech

Schedule: Full Time

Pay Range: $30.00 - $31.00 / Hourly

Shift: Day shift

Hours: 630a-3p

About this role

Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the Manager of the Sterile Processing Department will provide shift leadership and guidance to SPD technicians and serve as a preceptor to new hires. Assist in assuring that departmental SOPs and the facilities Policies are followed. Interprets next day surgical schedule and identifies the Operating room needs for the day and the next day. Identifies surgical sets requiring turnover for the day. Oversees staff performances in all arear of CSPD maintains communication with the OR charge nurse regarding any instrument issues and add on surgical cases. Has the ability to trouble shoot any possible equipment issues, will contact the designated department if further repair is needed. Has the ability to troubleshoot, update and clean up data on T-DOC

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

• Equivalent to High School Diploma preferred

Experience:

• 3-5 Years' experience as a Sterile Processing Tech

Licensure and/or Certification

• Current certification in Sterile Processing CRCST or CBSPD

Skills:

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Computer skills required.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
