Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center seeks an experienced Sterile Processing Department (SPD) leader at the Liberty Campus to oversee operations, staff supervision, and resource management. You will ensure timely processing of sterile items, coordinate with perioperative and clinic leaders, and supervise assignments and evaluations.

Starting pay is commensurate with experience. Requires CRCST or CSPDT certification and a high school diploma with 5+ years in a related role; CHL or CSPM

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.
• Certification as either Certified Registered Central Supply Technician (CRCST), OR Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) is required.
• Additional certification of either Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL), OR Certified Sterile Processing Management (CSPM) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide on time availability of supplies/instrumentation for surgical and clinic procedures, ensure timely processing of sterile items and sterile supply availability according to PAR levels.
• Collaborate with SPD, Periop, Clinic leadership to ensure current processes reflect best practices for SPD activities.
• Create or validate daily assignments for sterile processing staff and supervise in absence of SPD Manager.
• Plan and supervise activities of SPD team and perioperative/clinic flow; lead staff meetings and support hiring/retention decisions.
• Maintain positive environment, ensure productivity, mentor staff, and guide annual evaluations and corrective actions.
• Manage staffing, supplies, equipment, and instrumentation; ensure policies/protocols are followed; maintain records per requirements.
• Demonstrate fiscal and operational accountability and stay updated on SPD requirements.
