Job summary

Sonoma Valley Hospital seeks a Sterile Processing Coordinator to lead the SPD, overseeing decontamination, sterilization, case cart prep, and instrument maintenance. The role ensures safe, compliant processing and supports OR readiness while collaborating with Surgical Services, nursing, Infection Prevention, and vendors.

The Coordinator analyzes performance data, drives process improvements, mentors staff, and helps shape policies to meet CIHQ, AORN, ISSHM, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; leadership-focused Bachelor's preferred.
• 3–5 years sterile processing experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• CRCST or IAHCSMM certification.

Responsibilities

• Manages and controls the provision of quality medical and patient care services through the sterilization of medical supplies and equipment; oversees stock and procurement with sales reps.
• Promotes communication, problem solving, and teamwork across departments, supports staff morale and empowerment to achieve goals.
• Maintains workflow of case carts and instruments; ensures proper assembly, packaging, sterilization, and handling of tools; maintains tray makeup lists and inventory.
