Job summary

Penn Medicine seeks a Sterile Processing Educator to coordinate and perform educational activities across Surgical Services. You will develop, implement and evaluate sterile processing programs, collaborate with SPD to ensure staff are trained and compliant with industry standards, and support patient safety through ongoing education and audits.

Qualifications

• Requires CRCST, CBSPD, HSPA certifications and ongoing CEU maintenance.
• 5+ years of Sterile Processing leadership/education experience.
• 3+ years leadership or education experience in Sterile Processing.
• Must be able to operate vacuum displacement sterilizers and washer/sterilizers; instrument tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop unit-based performance improvement programs to support PI goals.
• Develop and implement PMPH Sterile Processing Educational program and Perioperative trainings.
• Oversee orientation, training and competency assessments for staff across locations.
• Collaborate with leadership to implement continuing education and vendor in-services.
• Maintain documentation for staff competencies and conduct audits for compliance.
