Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Central Sterile Processing Educator to coordinate and perform educational activities across SPD departments. You will develop and implement decontamination, disinfection, and sterilization training and ensure staff adherence to industry standards.

Collaborating with the Surgical Services leadership and PDS teams, you will implement orientation, competency assessments, and continuing education across locations including Main Hospital, MAP and Monroe.

Qualifications

• Certified Registered Central Service Technician required.
• 5+ years CRCST/HSPA/CBSPD experience.
• 3+ years leadership or education experience.
• Experience operating sterilizers and instrument tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop unit-based performance improvement multidisciplinary programs.
• Develop PMPH Sterile Processing Educational program and the PMPH Surgical Tech training program.
• Responsible for initial and ongoing staff orientation, training and continuous assessments of skills.
• Collaborates with leadership to develop and evaluate continuing education and in-services.
• Maintain documentation and audits of staff competencies in Sterile Processing.
• Mentor staff and support quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide off-shift training and technical assistance to SPD staff.
• Support staff certifications CBSPD/HSPA and CEU tracking.
• Ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols.
• Foster climate of innovation through learning and role modeling.
