Job summary

Saint Alphonsus in Boise, Idaho seeks an Advanced Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in preparing sterile products in compliance with USP and state/federal rules. You will work in the IV room on high-risk compounding, document workflows, and occasionally supervise junior staff.

Requirements include 5 years as a pharmacy technician, 2 years sterile compounding, and Idaho/PTCB certification.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience as a pharmacy technician.
Minimum 2 years of sterile compounding experience.
Licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with Idaho State Board of Pharmacy; pass PTCB within 90 days.
Competencies in sterile compounding, including hazardous compounding.
Lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Work under pharmacist supervision to prepare sterile compounded products.
Operate in IV room and perform high-risk/hazardous compounding.
Maintain accurate documentation and EMR workflows.
Provide supervision to technicians as needed.
Ensure all department functions are completed for efficient service.
Assist pharmacist with medication preparation, dispensing, clerical and billing duties.
Provide precepting for new hires and technicians-in-training.
Mentor technicians in new tasks and uphold aseptic technique.
