Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, WA, seeks a Pharmacy Technician III to support sterile compounding and IV admixtures across the pharmacy department. This 1.0 FTE role emphasizes accuracy, regulatory compliance, and collaboration to enhance patient care.

Under supervision of QA Sterile Compounding Pharmacist and Pharmacy Operations Manager, you will maintain documentation, train staff, and ensure adherence to USP 797/800 standards while serving a diverse clinical team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Washington state pharmacy technician certification.
• Minimum 2 years pharmacy technician experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Ability to perform basic pharmaceutical calculations and data entry.
• Experience compounding intravenous admixtures and sterile preparations.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with large teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex duties within the pharmacy department.
• Interpret, evaluate, and summarize data of varying sizes.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders inside and outside the department.
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and payors.
• Work independently and as part of a team to complete tasks.
• Document information or results clearly and concisely.
• Generate and present reports to Pharmacy Operations Manager or Director of Pharmacy.
• Complete routine environmental sampling and coordinate action plans based on results.
• Coordinate recertification of compounding areas and ensure compliance.
• Review certifications and regulatory records for sterile compounding compliance.
• Educate and train new employees to ensure competency in sterile compounding.
