Job summary

Naples Comprehensive Health (NCH) is seeking a Pharmacy Technician – Sterile Compounding in Naples, FL. This role involves preparing sterile medications in a regulated cleanroom and supporting pharmacists to ensure timely medication availability.

The position requires Florida registration, at least one year of formal education/training beyond high school, and ideally sterile compounding experience and ASHP certification.

Qualifications

• One-year formal education or training beyond High School.
• Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician in the State of Florida.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred.
• 6 months sterile compounding experience preferred.
• ASHP sterile compounding certification preferred.
• Experience with compounding hazardous products preferred.
• Good math and communication skills required.
• Professional verbal communication skills.
• High attention to details and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hazardous and non-hazardous sterile compounded drugs.
• Ensure accurate calculations, measurements, and labeling of compounded products.
• Participate in media fill testing and fingertip sampling.
• Identify and escalation compounding deviations, contamination risks, and/or process failures.
• Minimize waste through efficient compounding practices.
• Manage inventory of compounded supplies.
• Operate and maintain primary engineering controls (Laminar flow hood and biological safety cabinet).
• Collaborate with pharmacists, nursing, and clinical teams to ensure timely medication availability.
• Fills stock requisitions and patient medication orders accurately.
• Performs AcuDose operations (refills, returns, reports, etc.) without discrepancies/errors.
• Accurately completes computer functions (Powerchart/PharmNet, print operation, charges/credits).
• Completes assigned tasks in a reasonable time frame. Work habits structured to maximize productivity.
• Gives information to callers and relays questions to a pharmacist.
• Knowledge of automation systems (Robot, Connect RX, Med Carousel, NarcStation).
• Assists with training new staff after competencies.
• Maintaining IV competencies may qualify for hourly stipend.
