Job summary
Penn Medicine is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for Sterile Compounding in the infusion therapy setting. Under direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, you will prepare sterile products, including hazardous medications, adhering to USP 797/800 guidelines in the cleanroom.
You may rotate shifts, weekends, and holidays to meet patient care needs. Responsibilities include accurate compounding, labeling, communicating with pharmacists, maintaining inventory, and supporting performance
Qualifications
- Under supervision of a Pharmacist, prepares sterile compounds including hazardous medications per local/state/federal guidelines (USP 797/800)
- Maintains aseptic work areas and equipment and stock in cleanroom
- Rotates shifts/weekends/holidays as required by Penn Home Infusion Therapy
Responsibilities
- Use technical judgment in repetitive tasks requiring following instructions
- Accurately calculates medication quantities and supplies
- Adheres to USP797/USP800 guidelines for sterile product prep
- Provides timely communications to Pharmacists for checking/delivery
- Obtains and reviews labels to determine required products/delivery time
- Keeps inventory stocked and restocks returned medications
