Davenport Community Schools is seeking a Stepping Stones Para Educator to support elementary students in the Stepping Stones program at Jackson Elementary. This part-time role covers 2.75 hours per day with an entry-level hourly rate of $16.39 in the current bargaining unit.

Under supervision, you will supervise students, assist instructors, facilitate positive interactions, promote health and safety, and help with activities and materials across program sites. Ongoing PD is required.

Competenze

• Must complete 12 hours of ongoing professional development each academic year.
• Must have DHS Child Care Assistance, Mandatory Reporter Training, CPR/First Aid Certification within 60 days of employment.
• Able to work under supervision in recreation programs and related activities.

• Supervise students in large and small group settings.
• Assist certified instructors and community agency representatives with program activities.
• Engage with students to model social skills and healthy relationships.
• Facilitate behavioural interventions according to Stepping Stones philosophy and procedures.
• Communicate in a positive and professional manner with staff, students, families, and the public.
• Provide direct supervision of students to ensure health and safety both on and off school grounds.
• Assist students with academic activities and support good work habits and critical thinking.
• Participate in preparation, facilitation and cleanup of activities and maintain materials.
