Job summary

Christian Hospital and Northwest HealthCare in St. Louis is seeking a registered nurse to provide direct patient care, assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate care within established standards.

Great unit to grow critical care experience; days or nights available; sign on bonus eligible. You will educate patients and families, participate in safety and quality initiatives, develop care plans with the interprofessional team, and document progress.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• No prior experience required.

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on illness management, home care needs and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance; engages in professional development.
• Develops, implements and documents care plans with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient/family.
• Uses nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial and emotional needs; respects patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care.
• Maintains safety as a priority; the role is in a safety-sensitive environment requiring alertness.

Role Purpose

Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs.
