Job summary

State of Florida is seeking a STEP INTO SUCCESS PROGRAM COORDINATOR in Miami-Dade to recruit, engage, and support transition age youth pursuing career development and internships. You will manage participant caseloads, coordinate trainings, and foster strong employer partnerships to expand opportunities for youth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required.
  • Experience working with former foster youth and young adults is preferred.
  • Knowledge of workforce development, career readiness, and youth services.
  • Ability to build relationships with employers, mentors, and community partners.
  • Strong case management and participant engagement skills.
  • Experience coordinating programs and managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Managing participant caseloads, conducting assessments, coordinating orientations and trainings, and ensuring consistent engagement throughout the program.
  • Developing and maintaining internship host sites, building relationships with employers and community partners, and overseeing mentor recruitment and support.
  • Planning and delivering workforce development trainings, organizing participant meetings and events, and ensuring youth-centered, trauma-informed programming.
  • Representing the program in the community, promoting outreach efforts, and fostering partnerships that enhance opportunities for participants.
  • Maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with program requirements, tracking outcomes, and supporting statewide initiatives and special projects.
  • Demonstrating strong communication and data management to help youth navigate their career pathways.

The Step Into Success Program Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, engaging, and supporting transition age youth as they pursue career development and internship opportunities.

Essential Job Functions
  • Managing participant caseloads, conducting assessments, coordinating orientations and trainings, and ensuring consistent engagement throughout the program.
  • Developing and maintains internship host sites, builds relationships with employers and community partners, and oversees mentor recruitment and support.
  • Planning and deliver workforce development trainings, organize participant meetings and events, and ensure programming is youth-centered and trauma informed.
  • Representation in the community, promotes outreach efforts, and fosters partnerships that enhance participant opportunities.
  • Administrative responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with program requirements, tracking performance outcomes, and supporting statewide initiatives and special projects.
  • Strong communication, relationship building, program coordination, and data management skills to help youth successfully navigate their career pathways
Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

Work Experience Requirements
  • Experience working with former foster youth and young adults
