Position Overview

The purpose of this position is to perform the primary functions of a nurse in assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating patient care.

Essential Job Functions

• Plan, prioritize, and provide proficient, age-specific and developmentally/specialty appropriate nursing care by applying advanced clinical knowledge and skills to ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Follow physician's orders in delivering nursing care.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Adhere to infection control, isolation procedures, and aseptic techniques.
• Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing according to policies and regulations.
• Perform admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.
• Assemble equipment and supplies for diagnostic or treatment procedures; assist with procedures or treatments.
• Handle care in accordance with legal, hospital, departmental policies, and standards of nursing practice.

Other Job Functions

• Perform Quality Assessment activities and document findings.
• Attend staff and mandated meetings.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse without sanctions.
• 2+ years full-time RN experience in Telemetry/ICU or related healthcare positions.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; PALS strongly preferred.
• Fluency in English, written and oral.
