Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Sunnyvale in Sunnyvale, TX is seeking a Step Down Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in our Cardiac Specialty Unit. You will use the nursing process, collaborate with professionals, and ensure a comprehensive plan of care for patients and families.

Qualifications include Texas RN license, 2+ years of recent critical care, BLS/ACLS, and an accredited nursing degree.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Texas RN license and two+ years of recent critical care experience.
• ACLS and BLS certifications at time of application.
• English communication skills; additional languages preferred.
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with charting systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee patient care team and coordinate the care plan.
• Prescribe, delegate, and coordinate patient care using nursing skills and evidence-based guidelines.
• Provide education and facilitate learning for patients, families, and team members.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement the care plan.
• Advocate for patients and resolve ethical and clinical concerns.
• Accurately document patient encounters and protect patient health information.
• Adhere to infection prevention initiatives.
• Deliver competent care with emphasis on good patient relations and evidence-based practice.
• Continuously evaluate patient condition and collaborate with the healthcare team.

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Sunnyvale is seeking a Step Down Registered Nurse to who will independently in our Cardiac Specialty Unit performing the functions of direct patient care. You will utilize the nursing process in the delivery of developmentally appropriate care. You will also work in collaboration with other health care professionals to provide a comprehensive plan of care to meet the patient/family needs.

Qualifications:

• Step Down Registered Nurse requires advanced professional knowledge in own field and basic knowledge of related fields - Knowledgeable of industry best practices and regulations
• Acts as a resource for less experienced colleagues and may lead projects - Solves complex problems and takes a new perspective on existing solutions
• Impacts customer, operational, project, or service activities within own and related teams - Works independently with minimal guidance
• Explains difficult information and works to build consensus
• Step Down Registered Nurse oversees patient care team and coordinates care plan
• Accountable for patient care meeting safety, effectiveness, and patient rights standards

• Step Down Registered Nurse continuously evaluates patient condition and collaborates with healthcare team - Manages environmental and system resources for patients and families.
• Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Preferred: Academic degree in nursing (Bachelors or Master’s degree)
• Current State of Texas Registered Nurse license.
• Two or more years of recent critical care experience.
• Current AHA BLS Certification.
• Current AHA ACLS Certification.
• CCRN preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Additional languages preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge.
