Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Sunnyvale is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse to independently deliver direct patient care in the Intensive Care Unit using the nursing process. You will collaborate with a care team to develop and implement a comprehensive plan addressing patient and family needs.

The role requires Texas RN licensure, 2+ years of critical care, and current BLS/ACLS certifications; CCRN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with Texas RN license.
• Two+ years of recent critical care experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; CCRN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the ICU using the nursing process.

Job Summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Sunnyvale is seeking a ICU Registered Nurse to who will independently in our Intensive Care Unit performing the functions of direct patient care. You will utilize the nursing process in the delivery of developmentally appropriate care. You will also work in collaboration with other health care professionals to provide a comprehensive plan of care to meet the patient/family needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Registered Nurse requires advanced professional knowledge in own field and basic knowledge of related fields - Knowledgeable of industry best practices and regulations
• Acts as a resource for less experienced colleagues and may lead projects - Solves complex problems and takes a new perspective on existing solutions
• Impacts customer, operational, project, or service activities within own and related teams - Works independently with minimal guidance
• Explains difficult information and works to build consensus
• Oversees patient care team and coordinates care plan
• Accountable for patient care meeting safety, effectiveness, and patient rights standards
• Prescribes, delegates, and coordinates patient care using nursing skills and evidence-based guidelines
• Provides education and facilitates learning for patients, families, and team members
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plan
• Advocates for patient and resolves ethical and clinical concerns
• Accurately documents patient encounters and protects patient health information
• Adheres to infection prevention initiatives
• Delivers competent care with emphasis on good customer relations and evidence-based practice
• Continuously evaluates patient condition and collaborates with healthcare team - Manages environmental and system resources for patients and families.

Qualifications:

• Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Preferred: Academic degree in nursing (Bachelors or Master’s degree)
• Current State of Texas Registered Nurse license.
• Two or more years of recent critical care experience.
• Current AHA BLS Certification.
• Current AHA ACLS Certification.
• CCRN preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Additional languages preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge.
