Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake is seeking a Youth Development Professional (YDP) to run STEM and academics activities for youth ages 8-12 in partnership with AmeriCorps. You will plan, implement, and supervise engaging programs that support the Club's outcomes.

This role emphasizes mentoring, safety, teamwork, and community involvement, with a schedule of 25 hours per week, Monday-Thursday afternoons and Friday, plus opportunities for extra summer hours.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in high-energy, loud, active settings with youth.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with youth, peers, and families.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team.
• Excellent organization and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement daily group activities with a focus on STEM and academics for youth aged 8-12.
• Transport youth in Club vehicles for pickups and field trips.
• Ensure engagement and promote consistent attendance in activities.
• Establish rapport with youth and provide mentoring and role modeling.
• Provide active supervision and interact with all members.
• Submit lesson plans, attendance sheets, and other paperwork.
• Plan special events such as guest speakers or field trips.
• Abide by safety policies and procedures.
• Attend local trainings.
