Job summary

Fusion Academy in Rockville, MD is seeking a STEM Teacher for a part-time role with potential to convert to full-time as enrollment allows. You will teach a wide range of science and math subjects in a personalized, student-centered environment, designing lessons and collaborating with campus peers.

Expect flexible scheduling and emphasis on social-emotional growth. The role requires a Bachelor's degree; teaching credentials or advanced degrees are a plus, and a strong ability to work with

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees or a teaching credential is a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to teach a wide range of science and math courses (Earth, Physical, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy, Earth Space, Anatomy & Physiology, Marine Biology, Zoology, Integrated, Basic Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, Statistics, Business & Consumer Math, and Calculus).
  • Experience working with students, including those with learning differences, neurodiversity, accelerated learning needs, and/or mental health challenges.
  • Mentoring experience and a passion for social-emotional learning.
  • Outgoing, adaptable, and eager to thrive in a dynamic, student-centered environment.
  • Skilled with technology, curious about innovation, and open to learning new tools.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • A growth mindset with the flexibility to pivot and problem-solve as needed.

*This is a part-time opportunity with the possibility of converting to a full-time role, contingent upon student enrollment. The projected start date is late September / early October 2026.
