Job summary

Oakland University School of Engineering and Computer Science (SECS) Outreach Department is committed to STEM education for Kindergarten through 12th grade students. Our SECS Outreach Department is looking for a highly organized, driven, cheerful, and detail-oriented individual to fill the position of STEM Summer Camp High School Counselor.

This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Outreach and Retention.

Qualifications

• Must be 17 years or older.
• Comfortable with working with children and youth.
• Ability to organize time, material, and groups.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Interest in Education, Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics preferred.
• Previous experience working with children.
• Cheerful and positive disposition.
• Strong leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead outreach staff with teaching and overseeing summer campers.
• Plan and implement fun and engaging Summer STEM activities.
• Responsible for ensuring the safety of all campers.
• Other duties as assigned.
