The STEM Educational Aide at the elementary level plays a vital role in supporting both students and educators by reinforcing instructional goals, managing classroom activities, and contributing to a positive and productive learning environment. This position includes assisting with lesson delivery, supporting student behavior and engagement, and helping with classroom logistics and organization.
The position is a school year only, while students are in session.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have valid Ohio Department of Education Educational Aide Permit by the first day of school
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and maintain a positive, student-focused approach
  • Must pass a background check
  • A high school diploma or training and experience that are considered equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience and/or training with elementary aged students

Essential Functions and percent of time:

70% – Instructional Support:

  • Assist teachers with lesson implementation, classroom activities, and student engagement.
  • Support positive behavior strategies and help manage classroom routines.
  • Reinforce learning objectives in both individual and small-group settings.

10% – Communication:

  • Maintain professional communication with teachers, staff, students and parent about student progress and needs

10% – Specialized Support:

  • Provide targeted and/or specialized support to students with specific academic or behavioral needs

10%- School Support as needed:

  • Help with lunch duties, bus duties, and dismissal duties
  • Other assignments as assigned

This is a grant funded position with continuation dependent on funding. Special contract terms and conditions of employment apply.
